About the Championship:

The aim of the competition is to enchance friendship & sport spirit to spread accuracy landing discipline amongst pilots and nations.Gladly announces forth edition of the Sharjah
International Paragliding Championship With great enthusiasm we like to introduce a new way to present you & to sort out the best pilot in accuracy landinng.Participants will be from the United Arab Emirates and around the world it’s a great time to learn share your experience, you cannot become a champion by dreaming it’s a fortuitous to be a champion come and join with us, heartfelt welcome is awaiting.
Championship Date: 21-23 February 2025 from 09:00 to 16:30 time will confirm on the event day as per judge announcement.
Championship venue: The tournament will be held in the Emirate of Sharjah, Maliha area (Jabal Al Faya)
(Take-off) – N25.067089, E55.814910 200m ASL Orientation – Wind direction: (N, NW, W, SW,).
Launch is enough to spread 2-3 gliders from the organization.
Foot launch from hill site
Landing place – N25.068795, E55.812829 80m. ASL. Shortest distance – 2oo meters
Landing field on sand from all landing’s directions.
Categories of participants:
Participants will take place alongside numerous of competitors from various nationalities, and the tournament divided below
Two Categories: Individual category and team category.
Championship Awards:
Champions will be honoured with encash prizes, will distribute certificates to the participants from the Federation.
Individual prizes:
The first three champions will be granted with cash and certificates accredited by the Federation.
Team Awards:
The top three teams will be awarded cash prizes and certificates accredited by the Federation. Registration & ENTRY

1.2 Registration:
1.3 Maximum Entries allowed 60 numbers (if registered participants exceeded more than 60 no’s allowed number of participants, will be finalize by the Committee )
The Registration will be open from 08:oo AM on 21th February 2025 . On arrival, pilot shall report to the Registration counter on event day to have their documents checked and to receive supplementary regulations and information (if any).
The end of Registration period (21th February 2025 at 12:00 PM ) is considered to be the official start of the competition.
Equipment checks shall be made by the Competition Officials during the accuracy rounds to ensure all pilots are conforming to the rules on safety equipment.
1.4 Equipment
All equipment must abide by Section 7C-8 of the FAI Sporting Code.
1.5 Pilots Numbering.
The Competition organizer will allocate numbers to each competing pilots. Pilots will draw lots to determine the numbering and the first launch order.
1.6 Radio Transceivers
Every pilot may have a functional radio using the competition frequencies 155.000mhz. Any matters regarding emergency or retrieval will be on frequencies 140.000mhz Voice activated transmission (VOX operated) are not permitted.
1.7 Pilot documentation required
All pilots must present at the registration the following documents:
- Proof of identity (ID/Passport/License or Equal validated documents or qualified certificate with validate period )
- Insurance : All participants must provide insurance documents, priority will take place for those who have valid insurance documents provided & if you’ll face the difficulty to obtain temporary insurance certificate kindly go through these certified companies :
- Each competitor will be requested to sign Waiver declaration (agreement on released of liability)
- Age Factor: The Competitor must be from 18 & above.
- Individual Prize Distribution will be as following
- 4000 AED
- 3000 AED
- 2000 AED
- Team Prize Distribution will be as following
- 75000 AED
- 5000 AED
- 4000 AED
COMPLAINT & PROTEST
1.1 Complaint
A complaint may be made to the Meet Director or Chief Judge.
Complaints will be dealt with expeditiously.
1.2 Protest
If the complainant is not satisfied with the outcome, a protest may be made to the Meet Director.
Protests must be submitted within 1 (one) hour following notification of the result of the complaint by the Meet Director.
The protest fee is AED 1000. It will be returned if the protest is upheld.
Protest will be dealt with by 3 Jury members, in which the results of the outcome would be final.
